Lt.-Colonel Shalom Eisner Removed from Command Post

The IDF Spokesperson’s Office announced a short time ago that Lt.-Colonel Shalom Eisner may not remain in his post as deputy commander of Jordan Valley region forces following the incident involving the Danish national affiliated with the International Solidarity Movement.

Ganz also decided that Eisner will not serve as deputy commander of Officers’ Training Base 1 as planned, and that he will not hold a command post in the coming two years due to the severity of his actions.

In response, Eisner released the following statement to the media: “I received the letter of dismissal from my post. The feeling is a most difficult one, both mentally and physically and I need some time to recover. If offered another assignment, I will have to decide if I will continue in the IDF.”

  1. Hey Netanyahu and Peres,

Suspending a decorated IDF officer because of world opinion-nice.

Keep making shmattahs out of yourselves in front of the entire world! Newsflash-it won’t help you at all-the world hates Israel no matter what it does.

  2. YonasonW,
It is well known that the video was edited to make it look as if Officer Eisner attacked the demonstrator without cause. However news reports have stated that seconds before the ‘incident’ this punk threw a bike at Officer Eisner breaking two of his fingers. His reaction in the face of such provocation is fully understandable and justified. If Bibi had any backbone he would stand behind his Army Officers and defend them to the world.

  3. I was witness to an episode in March 2011, when I visited & was in Jerusalem for a shabbos.
I happened to encounter a protest against chilul shabbos organized by the Chareidim (I’m a non-chasidic jew from NY)
As I was standing & observing the peaceful protest, a shtreimel wearing man was standing next to me ON THE SIDEWALK, when a police car pulls up & rams into him !!
When I politely confronted the highly decorated officer who exited the vehicle , why did you do this ? He answered:
” They are all animals & should all be killed”

  4. YonasonW, I don’t care what’s in the video. This Nazi came to EY to wage war against the Jewish nation; he is our enemy and it was right to beat him. This is a war, and enemy soldiers are fair game. In a war one kills enemy soldiers even if they are running away, and even if they are asleep.

Besides which, have you seen how the Danish police treat “peaceful protesters”? This guy would have been far worse off if he tried his shenanigans in his own country.
