The head of the Knesset Yahadut HaTorah faction MK Rav Yisrael Eichler on Sunday afternoon 23 Nissan 5772 visited the Har Nof home of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita. Eichler, who brought a personal message from the Belzer Rebbe Shlita, was received very warmly.

Rav Ovadia asked that he send his greeting to the Belzer Rebbe on his behalf, telling him “Tell the rebbe that we love and respect him for all he does on behalf of Am Yisrael”.

It is reported that Eichler consulted with the posek hador on a number of matters and when their meeting concluded, Eichler received the famous pinch on his cheek from the rav, signaling his warmth towards him. Rav Ovadia added that he has total trust in him as if “you are one of our representatives [in Knesset]”.
