A unique lawsuit was filed against the Defense Ministry in the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court in which the plaintiff is seeking to be recognized as an emotionally disabled veteran due to the fact he was ordered to fire at Arab children on a number of occasions. The lawsuit refers to Arabs children carrying RPG shoulder-held anti-tank rockets during the First Lebanon War.
Attorney Guy Beit Ohn explains his client continues to live the horrors of those days and has recurring nightmares as a result, the daily HaMevaser reports.
Bar Ohn explains the Ministry of Defense has refused to declare his client as disabled due to his emotional issues since it was not proven that his issues are the result of post traumatic stress. Bar Ohn feels that his client is a classic example of post traumatic stress and as a result of the military’s failure to properly treat him when the symptoms first appeared, his condition continued to worsen, reaching his current dysfunctional state.
