A city police officer wounded in a shooting over the weekend was released from the hospital Monday. Detectives Michael Keenan and Kenneth Ayala and Officer Matthew Granahan were all shot in the leg, and Captain Al Pizzano was grazed in the face early Sunday morning in Brooklyn.
Detective Ayala was released Monday from Lutheran Medical Center where he was applauded by fellow members of the force.
As he was being helped into a van, he said he felt good and was looking forward to saying hello to his family.
Captain Pizzano and Officer Granahan were sent home Sunday.
Detective Keenan remains hospitalized in stable condition.
The four were responding to a hostage situation in Sheepshead bay when they were shot.
Police say Nakwon Foxworth was holding his pregnant girlfriend and their four-month-old son hostage inside their apartment, but the woman and child managed to escape when officers arrived.
Foxworth was shot in the abdomen in the exchange of gunfire and remained hospitalized in critical condition Monday.
He faces charges of attempted murder, assault on a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.
He has already served 12 years in prison for attempted murder and other charges.

The fact that these four NYPD members will go home to their families and will be ok is great news. I hope the justice system works well and puts this horrible person away for a long time…he should never be put back into society again.
