An off-duty NYPD auxiliary officer was fatally shot in Brooklyn as he headed to work early Wednesday, his body left on a street corner until a passerby called police.

Francky Aleger, 39, was walking on Glenwood Road toward the subway to get to his security guard job at Mount Sinai Hospital when he was shot once in the lower back, his wife said.

His body was discovered by a passerby near East 95th Street at about 6 a.m. Responding officers transported Aleger to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Aleger, a Brooklyn resident and father of two young boys, volunteered as an auxiliary member in Manhattan’s 13th Precinct.

He had been on NYPD’s unpaid, unarmed auxiliary force for just six months, according to his wife of 11 years, Mislove Aleger.

Mislove Aleger tearfully told NBC New York Wednesday her husband was “a good person, he never raised his hand at anyone, never looked for trouble.”

“He’s my everything,” she said.

The Alegers, who are from Haiti, have two sons, ages 6 and 8.

Police are investigating.
