Anti-Semitic Attack at France’s Otzar HaTorah Yeshiva


An anti-Semitic attack against a 12-year-old student of the Otzar HaTorah Yeshiva took place earlier this week, on Monday, 3 Nissan 5772. According to the Kol Chai Radio report, three attackers, ages 13 and 14 jumped and beat the Jewish student as they shouted anti-Semitic vulgarities.

The victim sustained a head injury and required medical treatment. The attack occurred outside the school’s entrance, out of the line of sight of the policeman assigned to protect the school. Following the murderous attack at the school earlier in the month, France’s minister of the interior called for stepped up protection at all Jewish school and shuls.

Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe issued a strong statement condemning the attack and all anti-Semitism, expressing solidarity with the victim and the students of the Jewish school in Toulouse.

Sammy Grossman, a community leader explained the father of the victim father filed an official complaint. The father added that sadly, for many, the terrorist has become a symbol of someone to emulate.
