Shas leader Minister of the Interior Eli Yishai and Minister of Religious Services Ariel Atias made a shiva visit on Sunday evening, in the home of the Vishnitzer Rebbe ZT”L. They were also acting as personal shluchim for Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita.

The two explained to the aveilim that Chacham Ovadia wished to make the visit personally but due to his weakened condition, this was not possible.

The aveilim shared stories of the rebbe zt”l and how he maintained a good relationship with Rav Ovadia throughout the years. “When the two met, they would enter into discussion pertaining to sugyos in Gemara and other Torah,” the aveilim explained.
