Following his attendance of and presentation to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Eli Beer, Founder of United Hatzalah of Israel (UHI), has been selected as a “Young Global Leader” for 2012 by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum (WEF).
Mr. Beer’s selection is noteworthy in that Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan led the selection committee. Each year, the Forum recognizes up to 200 people under the age of 40 for “their professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world.”
The other winner from Israel is Jonathan (Yonatan) Adiri, Global Strategic Initiatives at Better Place and in the past a Senior Advisor to the President at Government of Israel and Chief Negotiator with the Red Cross at Israel Defense Forces. Past winners have included Larry Page, co-founder and CEO of Google; David Cameron, prime minister of the United Kingdom; and Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook.
“I’m honored to be part of this group of inspiring individuals who are bringing unique ideas and impactful leadership to all sectors of society; from business, politics, government and academia to the culture and the arts, “ said Eli Beer. “Having the chance to share United Hatzalah’s life-saving mission with my fellow YGLs is a great opportunity to spread our vision for the future with those who have dedicated their lives to making a difference in the world.”
