Avreichim around Eretz Yisrael began their daily learning later than usual this morning, Monday, 18 Adar 5772 as they recited tefilos and Tehillim on behalf of Maran Posek HaDor HaGaon HaRav Yosef Sholom Elyashiv Shlita, who at this time is undergoing a very unique medical procedure which carries many risks.

The medical team treating the gadol hador consulted with family members and the decision was made to go ahead with the procedure, realizing the risks in light of the rav’s diminished kidney output and deteriorating condition. While specifics of the procedure are not being discussed, medical officials add only a handful of physicians in Israel have done the procedure.

Tefilos were recited earlier and continue at this time for a successful outcome of the procedure taking place in Shaare Zedek Medical Center at this time.

The tzibur is requested to continue being mispallel for Rav Yosef Sholom ben Chaya Musha b’soch kol cholei am yisrael.
