With the realization that many Nachal Chareidi veterans are unable to return to the previous lives, and that they share many similar problems and issues, including the high cost of housing, persons associated with the Nachal Chareidi non-profit are working to arrange for housing for the frum IDF veterans.
According to a Yisrael HaYom report, efforts are underway to secure affordable housing projects for the Netzach Yehuda (official name of unit) veterans in areas including Beit Shemesh, Jerusalem and Gush Etzion, realizing while all the veterans are religious, not all are chareidi, hence the various types of communities. Officials involved in the effort are confident that purchasing apartments in bulk will considerably lower the price, and this they feel will be a major step towards assisting those members of the religious community who served in the IDF.

So we are openly admitting that going through the IDF will not keep the person frum?
Great idea that housing should be reduced in price and available for IDF graduates especially those who served in Nachal Charedei.
These guys came out frum (from what I’ve heard) and fully committed to a life of shmiras mitzvos. Some communities are unwilling to accept that the went into the IDF.
In my community (which is totally frum and fairly “chardali”) these guys would be welcome. But I doubt they could afford it. Few people can afford to purchase homes in the handful of “chardali” communities, which may very well speak to the rising demand for the hashkafa.
More govt funding so more money will be needed. They will also be Greece soon!
