Several pieces of valuable silver stolen over the weekend from Congregation Degel Israel, in Kew Gardens Hills, have been found. The story was published earlier by YWN.
Sources confirm to YWN that the items were found in a pawn shop in Jamaica Queens.
Three silver Sifrei Torah crowns, two silver Sefer Torah mini-crowns, three silver Torah breast plates, four silver Torah pointers and a silver Becher were stolen from the Shul.
It is unknown at this point if all the items, or just some of the items were recovered.
Additionally, sources in the NYPD confirm to YWN that detectives are examining video footage from the pawn shop.

The law in NJ is that all pawn shops must take photo id from anyone selling them anything. They must also file a report on anything they bought and not sell it for a specified amount of time (I think its 24 hours). I imagine there are simular laws in NJ.
