State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss has turned over his investigation to State Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein, signaling an investigation into allegations Shas is working to take over the Chief Rabbinate may be in order.
Allegations began with a report stated Shas leaders were working to take over the Chief Rabbinate by securing rabbinical appointments for loyalist rabbis. This would ultimately lead to the city’s rabbis approving the Badatz Beit Yosef hashgacha towards significantly contributing to its growth.
Lindenstrauss signals there are signs of criminal activity, including breach of trust and fraud by public officials. The state comptroller is recommends launching a criminal investigation.

How is it a crime for a political party to be “conspiring” to take over a political office? It would be like the Obama administration trying to prosecute the Republicans for trying to taking over the Senate (oops, I better shut up before he gets any ideas).
Money money money is the bottom line 99 out of 100 times.
Got to find jobs for all the rabbis with Bet Yosef semicha.
Personally, I rather have badatz bet yosef than badatz haeda!!! I totally agree with number 1….
