The meteorologists predicting snow in the capital, along with a stormy blustery weekend, Magen David Adom is moving to snow alert status to ensure emergency vehicles will be able to reach those seeking assistance. This includes Jerusalem as forecasters are still speaking of snow in the capital on Shabbos.
MDA Director Eli Bin has instructed MDA stations in areas where snow is expected to increase manpower as well in anticipation of increased call volume and delayed responses due to weather and roadway conditions.
In addition, supervisors are instructed to review protocols addressing hypothermia and other winter weather related conditions, which are less common in Israel.
All four-by-four ambulances are being stocked and prepared for emergency responses as well.
