According to the Kuwaiti report, the Mossad Intelligence Agency foiled an attempted assassination against Defense Minister Ehud Barak when the senior minister was visited Singapore this week. At the time there is no other source reporting these events other than the Kuwaiti news site. There has not been an official Israeli statement confirming or denying the report.

The report states three suspects were taken into custody, persons with Hizbullah affiliation.

Israel has stepped up security in diplomatic missions around the world in light of threatening intelligence community reports or Iran and Hizbullah trying to carry out attacks.

In addition, there have been terror warnings of plans to target Israelis and Jewish institutions as well, prompting concerns for the safety of many institutions around the world, including the worldwide Chabad houses network.
