Once again, Kever Yehoshua bin Nun, located in PA (Palestinian Authority) occupied Kafr Haris in Shomron was desecrated, and once again, the silence is deafening. There are no cries of condemnation from President Peres or national leaders, not even prominent mention in the media of the swastikas painted on the tziyun.
Last week, when mispallalim arrived at the tziyun they were horrified to see the contemptuous graffiti and swastikas. The graffiti was written in English and Arabic.
For those unfamiliar, the village is located opposite the city of Ariel, off of the main roadway, under Israeli security control. Nevertheless, it appears that Israel does not view protecting such sites as a priority, permitting PA residents to act as they wish, with impunity.
While the IDF advises Israelis not to enter such villages, designated under the Oslo Agreement as “B”, under total Israeli security control and PA civil control, one is legally permitted to do so. The only ban is on entering autonomous areas, designated as area “A”, under absolute PA control.
Despite the fact that Israelis may visit the tziyun, reality in the village is a different one, and even during a recent prearranged visit with IDF security at least one person was injured as a result of rocks thrown at the mispallalim.

They have the manpower to throw Jews from their homes and bulldoze Jewish construction, but they can’t protect the kevarim of Yehoshua, of Yosef, and others.
