UN: Kever Rachel Doesn’t Belong to the Jews Alone

While regularly displaying its anti-Israel agenda one could arguably acknowledge one trait that is evident in the international body, the UNs consistent anti-Israel stance, even when such a position denies historical fact.

UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has announced it accepts a PA (Palestinian Authority) claim of ownership of Kever Rachel. The PA petition claimed that the holy site is not that of Israel’s alone, but also belonging to Islam and Christianity. The PA move to the UN was prompted by Israel’s decision to include Kever Rachel in its list of national heritage sites along with the Ma’aras HaMachpela.

Robert Serry, UN Special Coordinator for the Mideast Peace Process has already warned Israel that adding these two sites to its heritage list could harm peace-making efforts in the region.

  1. Israel should start by making an initial demand that the Muslims (and the goyim in general) recognize the Jews as the indigenous inhabitants of Eretz Yisrael, and agree on Israel’s right to total control of pre-Islamic archeological sites. Given the Israeli elite longed dreamed of beign “Caanites” this is unlikely unless Israel gets a government in which hilionim are limited to being small minority party reduced to seeking patronage in return for their support (similar to the Jewish parties of today).

  2. “that adding these two sites to its heritage list could harm peace-making efforts in the region.”

Oh NO!!! That would be terrible! After all the arabs are, otherwise, so interested in making peace!!!

  3. There are legitimate reasons why some muslims and x’ristians may regard the kevorim of both rachel imanu and avraham avinu to have kedushah to them but that doesn’t mean they won’t have access under Israeli ownership and control. Israeli has generaly been very good about allowing all faiths to have equal access to holy sites. I would disagree with any proposal to turn over these sites to the UN.

  4. Mohammed lived from 570 AD to 632AD. That is when Islam started. Rachel lived about 1550BC more than 2000 years before Mohammed. How can there be a connection between Rachel Imenu and Mohammed? Even if Islam derives from Hagar, she was a step-grandmother to Rachel and there was no blood relationship.
