An agreement was signed a short time ago between the Histadrut national labor federation and the treasury bringing the nationwide strike to an end. Day two of the strike began this morning, Thursday, February 09, 2012, at 6:00am.
The strike focused on the growing number of workers in Israel who are hired by manpower agencies and are compelled to work without receiving minimal social benefits. This holds true of many persons working in national government offices as well as in local government.
Ironically, while the nation’s labor union called a strike towards assisting the manpower workers, the latter was unable to strike since they do not have a labor union and a strike action would have led to their dismissal.

Why can’t I find this on any other news site? The other sites say they are nearing an agreement.
