NYC: Ticker-Tape Parade Will Be Held Tuesday Following Win By New York Giants [UPDATED]

Plans were already underway last week regarding a possible ticker-tape parade in Manhattan.

Now that the New York Giants won tonight’s Super Bowl XLVI against the New England Patriots (21-17), those plans are moving full-steam ahead, and those plans are being moved into place.

It is the mayor’s office that organizes the parade, and according to reports, the city held a logistics meeting on Friday, where officials discussed a parade for this Tuesday.

The parade is traditionally held in the “The Canyon of Heroes” along Broadway in Lower Manhattan. The parade this year will run from Battery Park to Chambers Street at the north side of City Hall.

  1. B’H, the Giants pulled it out at the last minute….I suspect there were more than one kapital tehillim said over the past hour. New Yorkers needed this victory and it will the simcha to end all simchas.

    P.S. For those frustrated Patriot fans, please spare us the commentary on why YWN is even reporting this story. I suspect the moderators are Giants fans but some things should remain unknown.

    Moderators Response: The moderators are not sports fans whatsoever. This is to let people know that Lower Manhattan might be shut on Tuesday. This will affect thousands of readers.

  2. The parade is a total pain in the neck with no benefit to any hard working people in downtown Manhattan. Here’s one NY’er who could care less about the Giants winning & the follow up celebration.

  3. Moderator’s;

    if this is only posted to inform the reader’s who may be affected by the closures, etc., then what was the purpose of posting the score??

  4. So he’ll make a parade for the players who make millions and don’t do much for us, while denying a parade for american soldiers returning from war. No wonder this country is in trouble. We have our priorities wrong.
