Please join us for an important evening of tribute, expressing Hakores Hatov to the Bergen County law enforcement officials who quickly apprehended a suspect in the recent, shocking violent Anti-Semitic attack on a Rutherford shul.
Together with communities across New York, Councilman Mike Nelson, chair of the New York City Council’s Jewish Caucus; Council members David Greenfield and Lew Fidler and Assemblyman Dov Hikind will honor these devoted prosecutors and police officers Wednesday, Feb. 1st, at the Young Israel of Avenue K Ballroom, located at 2818 Avenue K, corner of East 29th street.
A buffet reception will take place at 8 p.m. followed by the ceremony at 9 p.m.
The event is Community sponsored and therefore free of charge.
The New York officials, who have seen a wave of recent anti-Semitism in their own area, will join AM 970 radio personality and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa who will be a guest speaker in honoring the New Jersey delegation for their sharp investigative skills and firm devotion to safeguarding their community from hate crimes.
This will be a great opportunity to send a message that a hate crime against one group is a hate crime against all, and we urge the Jewish Community throughout New York to attend and help make this great Kiddush Hashem. The event will also be attended by a diverse range of community members and representatives.
We would like to express appreciation to Abe Friedman for serving as liaison to the Bergen County Authorities.
