At least 35 people were injured in a predawn blaze that broke out in a 4-story residential building on Rabbi Meir Bal HaNess Street in Be’er Yaakov on Tuesday morning, January 31, 2012.
Over 20 rescue vehicles operated on the scene as many residents required initial treatment for smoke inhalation on the scene. Some of the victims sustained light burns, factures, and bruising – the result of jumping from windows to save themselves.
Magen David Adom reports one of the victims is listed in serious condition, five moderate, and the remainder light.
The victims were transported to Kaplan Hospital (Rechovot), Assaf HaRofeh Hospital (Rishon L’Tzion), and Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer (Tel Aviv).
There are no reports pointing to the cause of the blaze at this time.
