Shortly after FlatbushScoop.com published an article regarding loose pit bulls which are terrorizing people in Midwood, Dov Hikind released a statement to the media.
Hikind says that he has been “monitoring this situation closely as a number of constituents have reported that these pitbulls are chasing neighborhood children and attacking people, as well as other animals.”
Hikind goes on to say that police should “respond immediately and shoot these freekin’ dogs on sight”.
Please note that our affiliate site, BoroParkScoop.com, first reported a story in June of 2011, when angry neighbors attended the Community Board 12 meeting, and blasted the Commanding Officer of the NYPD’s 66th Precinct after the NYPD failed to do anything about a vicious dog in Boro Park. That particular dog attacked numerous people – including one victim who needed 90 stitches!

This article is sick and pointless. You wanna hate Hikind, fine. Don’t slander and besmirch him pointlessly and possibly against halacha.
Where is there anything in this article besmirching Hikind?
Never a dull moment around here.
I agree with Dov. Those dogs kill.
Feral dogs can be a serious problem, especially in urban areas. Virtually all cities have “leash” laws, and have someone (typically police or public health, sometimes a special “animal control” department) to capture them and if their owners can’t be found, “destroy” them. If you search for “Brooklyn” and “Animal control” you’ll get the contractor that the city has outsourced this function to.
So what’s the big deal.
And if they are pets, the owner is usually liable for damages and sometimes even prosecutable.
Funny, you can say the same exact thing about the rbs protesters.
