Illness Compels Rav Yaakov Yosef to Broadcast Shuir

Due to his illness HaGaon HaRav Yaakov Chai ben Margalit Yosef has begun giving some of his shiurim via radio broadcast, unable to continue his rigid schedule as he battles a life-threatening disease.

The news of the 66-year-old rav’s terminal illness recently became public, and while he and his father, Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita maintained a strained relationship for a number of years, Rav Yaakov was recently at his father’s home for brochos.

The Shas-affiliated Kol Berama Radio is cooperating with the rav, airing some of his shiurim to permit the listeners to continue benefiting from his words of Torah.

At a shiur last week, Rav Yaakov told participants that without tefilos and Chassdei Shomayim his chances of recovery are slim.
