It appears for the residents of Meah Shearim the night is still young, with much work remaining. Kikar Shabbat reports that Eida Chareidis Gavaad HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Tuvia Weiss Shlita is meeting with community officials as they plan their next move.

A protest has been decided upon, to take place tonight, Sunday, January 15, 2012, beginning on Yoel Street at 20:30 in front of the Satmar Beis Medrash.

Police in the capital, including riot control forces remain. All await the decision of the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court, which will undoubtedly have a direct impact on tonight’s agenda. The focus is on the decision impacting Rav Amram Shapira, the Gavaad’s right hand man. If the court extends his remand, this will most likely result in a violent protest on Yoel Street.

At the time of this report, it appears the court has already extended the detention of defendant Shmuel Lubitzky, a gabbai to the Gavaad. He was ordered held in jail for an additional four days.
