NYPD Arrest Man With Machine Gun In Subway

A man was arrested in a Midtown subway station with two loaded guns, including a machine gun.

It happened Sunday at about 5:25 p.m. at the subway station at 8th Ave. and 42nd St.

An off-duty police officer saw a fare-beater hop the turnstile. The officer stopped the man.

The NYPD says Allen Reggie, 33, of South Carolina had a loaded Smith & Wesson .45 caliber handgun in his waistband. Police also found that he had a loaded Intratec Luger Tec-9 machine gun in his bag.

Reggie faces criminal possession of a machine gun, and other weapons charges.

  1. If he’s from South Carolina it could be that he had a legal permit for those guns and just didn’t realize that those permits are worthless in New York City.

  2. Thank God he jumped the turnstile, and thank God we have New York’s Finest on constant alert for such criminals. Otherwise he wouldn’t have gotten caught. And usually, a peaceful man doesn’t enter the subway armed to the teeth.

  3. It’s interesting that when it comes to guns, so many people, especially the media, are either purposely or through their stupidity, ignorant. But it does play well to the Bloomberg folks to call the Tec-9 a “machine gun”. It sounds so much more scary. In truth, the Tec-9 is a sem-auto weapon; not that it might make many of you less fearful.
