A large number of police operated in Yehuda and Shomron during the night, arresting six people who allegedly were involved in the recent attack that occurred on the IDF’s Ephraim Command Base in Shomron. This attack took place about two-and-a-half weeks ago.
Arrests were made in Itamar, Charsha, Givat 18 Outpost near Kiryat Arba, and one arrest was made in Yerushalayim. Officials report one of the suspects in custody is distanced from entering Yehuda or Shomron by an administrative order signed by the IDF Central District commander.
Itamar Ben-Givir, a parliamentary aide to MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari calls the arrests “false arrest” which he insists were made to placate Police Chief Danino who is under mounting pressure to find the guilty parties. Ben-Givir told reporters that police don’t have a shred of evidence and they are simply grasping at straws in the investigation and acted to buy time since their investigation has hit a dead end.
