An EMT was killed and his partner is in critical condition after they were run over by their own ambulance which was stolen.
Sources tell Breaking911.com that a man jumped into the cab of the FDNY ambulance on White Plains Road near Watson Avenue at around 7:00PM. The EMT’s tried unsuccessfully to stop the man, who instead ran both EMT’s over.
Both EMT’s were rushed to Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx. One was pronounced dead. The other is in critical condition.
An MTA Police Officer passing by apprehended the suspect nearby after he crashed the ambulance.
