Romney: I’d Deport Obama’s Uncle

If Mitt Romney had his way, President Obama’s Kenyan-born uncle — fighting a DUI charge in Massachusetts — would be deported.

“Well, if the laws of the United States say he should be deported, and I presume they do, then of course we should follow those laws,” the Republican presidential candidate told Boston radio host Howie Carr.

“And the answer is ‘yes.'”

Onyango Obama, 67, the half brother of Obama’s deceased father, has pleaded not guilty to the drunken-driving charges against him.

The White House has not commented on the case.

  1. And lots of people would deport obama but alas we can’t do that so instead we will have to only “deport” him from DC in November.

  2. This story omits the following information from ABC News that was included in the USA Today online story:

‘According to the Associated Press: “Obama initially was held without bail on a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on allegations he violated an order to return to Kenya 20 years ago. He was subsequently released and ordered to regularly check in with immigration officials.” ‘

So it appears that the administrations of 3 US presidents not related to Onyango Obama (2 of whom were named Bush and were close family friends of the oil minister of Saudi Arabia), over a period of 19 years, could not, or did not, or deliberately refused or failed to, deport the current president’s half-uncle.

So what conclusions does anybody want to jump to? Maybe instead of deporting the President’s uncle, he should be incarcerated at Rick Perry’s family’s hunting camp.

  3. No. 2: Drunk driving is a terrible crime. I wouldn’t want a convicted drunk driver ever to be president of the US. So, whom did you vote for when the only convicted drunk driver to run for president ran for president? Al Gore? John Kerry?

  4. Actually Romney said he would follow the law, and if the law required deportation he would not interfere. Your headline makes it sound like Romney is advocating use of all sorts of (unAmerican) presidential powers to make and break laws. Given his very proper background, one can expect Romney to be a strict “play it by the rules” or “rule of law” type president.
