The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating a black doll hung by a noose in the Bronx headquarters of the city’s parks and recreation department.
The black baby doll was found hanging by its neck from a metal chain and three “KKK”s were found scratched in a bathroom.
The president of NYC Park Advocates, Geoffrey Croft, says a black employee in his 60s was “traumatized” when he found the doll near his workspace.
The incident happened at Ranaqua, the Parks Department’s Bronx headquarters located at 1 Bronx River Parkway.
In a statement provided to NBC New York, the Parks Department said it “does not tolerate hateful acts such as this or any form of discrimination.”
