More than 4,000 Hasidic rabbis from around the world are gathering in the city this weekend.

Today they are paying tribute to spiritual leader Rabbi Menachem Schneerson by visiting his gravesite at Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens.

The rabbi is credited with reinvigorating Jews after the devastation of the Holocaust.

The visit is part of the annual Conference of Lubavitch Emissaries.

“It’s also a good time when we have sessions, panels to discuss issues of common interests, such as children’s education, social relations, community matters, and it’s a good time, of course, to meet in the headquarters of the Chabad Lubavitch Center, which is in New York,” said Levi Matusof, who’s visiting from Belgium.

On Sunday, the group will gather for workshops on education, family and the economy.

The conference also includes a massive banquet at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal with speeches and dancing.
