The vehicle carrying the Rachmistrivka Rebbe Shlita was involved in an accident as it traveled from Monroe, NY following a fundraising event. The rebbe was in Kiryas Yoel on Sunday, 23 Cheshvan, when he also visited with the Satmar Rebbe Shlita.
The accident occurred in New York City, in Manhattan, and while the rebbe appeared to be okay, he was transported to Beth Israel Hospital for an exam, and he was released soon thereafter.
The hospital chaplain, Rabbi Shalom Yosef Deutsch arrived to see to the rebbe’s needs and to be with him during the exam. Williamsburg Shomrim arrived on the scene to remove the rebbe’s personal effects from the vehicle before NYPD cleared it from the scene.
The driver, Rav Avraham Zupnik, a son of philanthropist Moshe Shmuel Zupnik, was also transported to the hospital. There is no report on his condition.
The rebbe is in the United States for a two-week fundraising mission, Chadrei Chareidim reports.
