Major IDF Homefront Command Drill In Tel Aviv Area

The IDF’s Homefront Command on Thursday, 6 Cheshvan, is holding a major training operation in the Greater Tel Aviv area. Sirens sounded at 10:05am for 90 seconds, and sirens are also sounding periodically during the day.

In the event of a real emergency Chas V’sholom, the sirens sound in higher-lower mode. Sirens will be heard in Tel Aviv, Holon, Ramat Gan, Ohr Yehuda, Ramat Aviv, and the surrounding municipalities.

The attack simulates a rocket attack in the area involving chemical agents, focusing on the response and handling of the incident by EMS and emergency personnel. Wolfson Hospital in Holon will only be handling emergencies during the day, involved in the training event.

Officials point out the training event was planned eight months ago and in no way is related to reports of rising tensions with Iran.
