The 21st century battlefield is unquestionably the growing concerns surrounding cyber attacks. Once upon a time, such concerns were limited to hackers downing a website, but today, penetration into a secured computer system can have a devastating impact since society today relies on computers in all aspects of life.
Back in the 20th century, security concerns surrounded TV and radio stations since it known that taking over the ability to reach the nation is a powerful weapon, and today, these concerns extend considerably further, to include banking, healthcare systems, defense systems, communications, and the media to name a few.
The Knesset has authorized the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) to begin working with a number of companies, bringing in security experts who will instruct technical professionals in advanced measures that can and should be taken to protect systems against hostile penetration. Some of the companies named include Cellcom (mobile telephones), Orange (mobile telephones) 012 smile (phones/internet), Netvision (ISP), Bezeq International (ISP, phones), and MIRS (mobile phones).
