The Kuwaiti media is reporting that another deal is in the works between Israel and Egypt, for the release of Israeli citizen Ouda Tarabin, who has been imprisoned in Egypt since 2000. The report states this deal is to take place in November, after the Muslim holiday of the Feast of the Sacrifice.
Tarabin was arrested in 2000 after he was apprehended with weapons, charged as a spy for Israel, tried and convicted. He was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
The report states that Israeli will release imprisoned Egyptian nationals, not drug dealers or the like, but “political prisoners”.
In the meantime, Ilan Grapel, who was released from Egyptian imprisonment last week, has already left Israel to return to the home of his parents in New York City.
