Betar Mayor Rubinstein’s Vehicle Hit In Rock Attack


Shortly before candle lighting on Friday afternoon Betar Illit Mayor Meir Rubinstein was traveling on the Hussan Bypass Road near home when he was targeted by Arabs throwing rocks at Israeli vehicles. Actually, it was another drive-by rock attack but the assailant was not in a car, but on a motorcycle.

Baruch Hashem the incident concluded without injuries. Police are investigating.

Police do not believe that the mayor’s car was singled out specifically, but was targeted as another Jewish vehicle on the road.

  1. So why can’t the Israelis carry guns and shoot someone who throws rocks at them? I really think the problem would stop immediately! The police and the army can’t be everywhere, and the Israelis must be protected.

  2. #1 — Many Israelis do carry guns — but if they would shoot someone who “only” is throwing rocks they would end up in jail for murder! Even the police and the army have to be extremely careful not to exhibit a “disproportional response.”
