11:50 IL: IDF Spokesman Brigadier-General Yoav Mordechai a few moments ago announced that following the preliminary medical examinations, Gilad Shalit appears in good health.
Mordechai explained that the next stop for Shalit will be the Tel Nof air force base where he will be reunited with his parents, Aviva and Noam, along with other family members.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz and other senior military and government officials await his arrival as well.
