07:46 IL: Mr. Tzvi Shalit, Gilad’s grandfather, arrived at the Tel Nof base moments ago. Gilad’s parents, Noam and Aviva arrived earlier.

Senior IDF officials are on hand as well to greet Gilad, including IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz and Air Force Commander Major-General Ido Nehushtan. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is also expected to arrive as well as a number of other senior government officials.

If the transfer goes according to the plan, Gilad will G-d willing arrive at Tel Nof within the next two hours. He must first undergo a number of preliminary medical exams, and his departure from Egyptian soil is delayed until the terrorists being released by Israel cross the border into Egypt and released elsewhere as well.

Some prisoners, 16 in total, including two women, are now en route from Ofir Prison to Metzudat Adumim, and they will be released from there to their families. These are terrorists who have Israeli citizenship and/or residents of the eastern capital. (Not all eastern Jerusalem Arab residents are citizens).

Other terrorists are being transported to release points in northern Israel.
