A number of right-wing activists on motzei Shabbos morning successfully bypassed security agents stationed at the Jerusalem home of Justice Minister Prof. Yaakov Ne’eman, knocking on the door of the home. They were then apprehended by security agents. The protestors were distanced from the minister’s home, but some did manage to evade security agents, making it to the front door.
They were protesting the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal, chanting slogans against the deal and against the minister, who voted in favor of the release of 1,027 terrorists to bring Gilad Shalit home.
Protestors were also outside the President’s Residence, calling on President Shimon Peres not to grant a pardon to the terrorists slated for release.
As it stands, the list of the 1,027 terrorists slated for release are collectively serving over 900 life sentences, all to be annulled by President Peres to permit moving ahead with the deal to bring Gilad Shalit home.
