As the state prepares to release 1,027 terrorists for the return of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, Shas leader Minister of the Interior Eli Yishai is pushing for the release of so-called Jewish terrorists, such as Ami Popper.
According to a Kikar Shabbat report, a son of Popper visited Rav Ovadia in his sukka, asking the Rav to assist, adding, “May Hashem have rachmonus on him towards his release”.
The Popper children also met with Eli Yishai, who is working to have the Jewish prisoners included in the deal, who told the children, “BeEzras Hashem, he will be home soon”. Shas Housing Minister Ariel Atias added that Shas officials are constantly working to have them released.
According to the report, the list of Jewish prisoners numbers 18.

The Israeli government’s real complaint about “Jewish terrorists” is not that they kill Arabs (which, frankly, the Israeli government is indifferent to, – look how they betrayed their Arabs allies in Lebanon), but rather that they are really trying to undermine and eventually overthrow the current secular zionist government of Eretz Yisrael. From a zionist perspective, they are “Jewish traitors”.
Yigal Amir should also have his sentence shortened by one-third. He will never murder again. The same is not true of these two-legged animals like the Sbarro machshefa who are being released now.
