Noam Shalit, Gilad’s father, was a few moments ago escorted by Shas leader Minister Eli Yishai to meet with HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita, apparently to speak with the Gadol HaDor, who has been a strong supporter throughout Gilad’s captivity, after hearing of the prisoner release. Shalit was taken to the Rav’s home in Har Nof, detailing the prisoner release as he understands it from the prime minister, who phoned earlier in the evening. Mr. Shalit did not wish to speak with reporters.

Yishai took a break from the cabinet meeting to bring Mr. Shalit into the Rav, to enable the two to discuss the breaking events that surround the likely release of Gilad.
