Hizbullah: IDF Soldiers Were Killed By Mistaken IDF Fire

In his memoirs, Health Minister Ali Hassan Khalil states that IDF soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev HY”D were killed by IDF gunfire, and not be Hizbullah terrorists. The two were abducted while patrolling the Israel-Lebanon border July 12, 2006, sparking the Second Lebanon War. Their remains were returned to Israel in a prisoner exchange deal on July 16, 2008.

Lebanon’s al-Safir newspaper reports Khalil states the two soldiers were killed by an Israeli shell and not by terrorists as Israel has been reporting. The minister adds that it is most ironic, since Israel kills the soldiers over whom war was declared. He stated that his captors took every precaution to protect them towards keeping them alive.

Then Prime Minister Ehud Olmert launched the Second Lebanon War in response to the cross-border abduction.

The Office of the IDF Spokesperson responded to the report by stating it is simply untrue and not based in fact, adding Hizbullah was behind the 2006 attack and is therefore responsible for events leading to the deaths of the soldiers.

  1. These brazen animals make it sound like their was absolutly nothing wrong with the actual abduction of some jews in the first place.

  2. To my knowledge no Jewish prisoner taken by Hizbullah has EVER been returned alive. We have had successful “living” exchanges, but not from Hizbullah. What makes Hizbullah happy is to exchange non-breathing Jewish bodies for 500 or so of the own still breathing.

Our “living and breathing” sages have things to say about these matters but we do not ask questions and we do not listen to answers. A strict and extremely serious individual and national violation of Devarim 17:8-11.
