Off-Duty NYPD Officer Caught In Cross-Fire Of Shootout In Brooklyn

An off-duty cop was shot in the arm this afternoon after being caught in the middle of a wild Brooklyn shootout.

The 38-year-old female officer — who has 17 years on the force — was driving through East New York when shots rang out, police sources said.

Several bullets pierced her car and she suffered wounds to her right arm and elbow.

“She’s just an off-duty NYPD officer who happens to be driving by the wrong place at the wrong name,” one police source said.

An ambulance took the officer, who is assigned to a Queens precinct, from Ashford Street near Linden Boulevard to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.

  1. I know this area very well. When this was a mostly white and Jewish neighborhood, there was little to no violence. The cruel reality of life is that there is a way of life among certain parts of some communities that thinks that using guns is just a normal way to solve issues with those you disagree with. Disgusting behavior by low lifes that when caught, are not properly punished.
