12:00AM EST: The FDNY is currently on the scene and investigating a suspicious fire inside the Krasna Bais Medrash located at 1462 38th Street, near 14th Avenue. BoroParkScoop.com has posted exclusive photos from inside the Bais Medrash, and the “Paroches” (curtain) on the Aron Kodesh appears to have been set ablaze. They also report that the owner of the Paperific Supermarket (located next door) smelled fire, and managed to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher. Bichasdei Hashem, the fire was caught in time.

I hope that the shul realizes what a wonderful neighbor they have. He could have phoned the fire department and done nothing else. The damages would have been far worse had he done that. The owner of the market who put out the fire with an extinguisher put himeself at risk.
