Chabad Shaliach to Katmandu Rabbi Chezki Lifshitz was summoned to address Mossad agents who will be responsible for providing security for Chabad houses around the world, COL reports.
The meeting will be held at an undisclosed location in Israel, with the participation of senior Mossad officials who wish to understand how the Chabad shluchim operate towards better defining security arrangements. They are addressing credible intelligence warnings, providing an overall situation analysis and ultimately the game plan.
Chabad houses worldwide are busy preparing for the yomim tovim, and from a Mossad perspective, there is particular concern surrounding the facilities in venues such as S. America and the Fareast, areas where large numbers of Israelis are expected to gather on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
Despite the financial hardships encountered by many Chabad houses in the past year, operations are continuing with an increasing measure of Siyata Dishmaya and self-sacrifice on the part of shluchim, in the hope of attracting a large number of Israelis trekking around the world in search of answers.
In Nepal, plans are underway to host thousands, and in light of concrete security threats, arrangements are being made in advance with the appropriate Israeli security agencies to thwart any planned terror attacks. An extremely large tent has been erected to accommodate the thousands expected to take part in tefilos and yomtov meals in that location.
