Neturei Karta, unlike the rest of Am Yisrael, is preparing to celebrate events about to take place in the United Nations, which by all accounts will lead to the State of Palestine in Eretz Yisrael. According to some of the organization’s leaders special ceremonies are planned, including songs in honor of the new Arab state.
Yisrael Hirsch, an official in the radical element of Jewry told Kol Chai Radio’s Mordechai Lavi he and his colleagues are hopeful that “the state will be created with Hashem’s help, and then we can finally live under their rule”.
Hirsch stressed he was not being sarcastic, but quite serious, stressing he and his followers maintain a constant contact with PA officials. “The Zionists must be wiped off the map” he added, and when asked how they will mark the event, he explained “On Shabbos, we will sing zmiros”. He feels the establishment of Palestine “Is major holiday for the Jewish People”.
His brother Motel Hirsch was arrested on Tuesday (20 Elul) in a police crackdown on Meah Shearim sikrikim who have been terrorizing the community. Motel is alleged to be a leader of the sikrikim and on Wednesday morning (21 Elul), Jerusalem police official Shmulik Ben-Ruby indicated a criminal indictment will be filed against him.
Yisrael denies that his brother is connected in any way, telling Lavi ‘We never had any dealings whatsoever with Ohr Chaim [bookstore in Meah Shearim]”.

I never understood Tisha Bav until now. I read about the Biryonim-extremist Jews- who burned all of the grain down in Yerushalayim so that the Jews would be forced to fight. Celebrating is stupid and absurd.
But let’s not forget what we do agree with these nuts on. Our problem with the Palestinian state is only because of the danger it represents, and not because we were less in Golus without it.
We also agree that before Moshiach comes the secular rule has to fail, but we don’t celebrate a national failure and it’s consequences, we morn it.

Emunah613: I vehemently disagree with NK but you got it backwards: the Biryonim agitated against the Romans while R’ Yochonon sneaked out to make peace with him. In 1948 the same thing happened: The Zionists wouldn’t give up the Old City and shot at anyone who tried to escape, and the rabbonim sneaked out to surrender to the Arabs, thus saving all Jews.

AinOhdMilvado, you got it exactly wrong. If you read the accounts of those who lived at the time, you will discover that the Arab savages did massacre the Jews precisely because of Zionism.
Zionism began well before the State of Israel was founded in 1948.
Also, as msseeker pointed out, the NK are the opposite of the Baryonim, whereas the Zionists would probably be more comparable to the Baryonim as they ignored the majority of the gedolim of the time who adamantly opposed the creation of the State and Zionism in general.
There may be serious problems with the way the NK conducts their affairs (Al tishchabeir larasha, et al.). but if they are sincere, they are simply reminding the world that Zionism does not equal Judaism, and they are very much correct in that assertion.
