Yahadut HaTorah’s MK Rabbi Yisrael Eichler will be heading a session of the Knesset Finance Committee Subcommittee on Transportation to address the nation’s public transportation ahead of the Tishrei yomim tovim.
Eichler explains that every year the number of riders increases significantly, particularly to the Kosel, public sites, religious sites, and tourist attractions, and this is usually accompanied with numerous instances of failures on the part of the transportation system due to a lack of proper planning.
Eichler is hopeful that this year, he will be able to avoid many of these chronic problems that prevent hardships to the increased number of riders who rely on the nation’s transportation system during the yomim tovim. This includes adding buses when and where it is warranted as well as arranging for appropriate security and other arrangements involving national and local agencies.

Maybe the ebeshter is trying to tell us somthing about riding the buses and rail on yom tov by making the service more prone to breakdowns. Even though its rosh hashanah, I’m not sure riding a bus to daven at the kosel or to the kever of some big tazadik warrants being mechallel yom tov.
maybe the ribono shel olam is telling us that the drivers should apply for their license earlier so that service wont be impacted
Nobody is talking about traveling on Yom Tov. The buses don’t operate on Yom Tov. He is talking about throughout Elul and Tishrei -Erev R”H, Aseres Yimei Teshuvah, Erev Y”K, Chol HaMoed Succos – peope travel to the Kosel and other mekomos ha’kadoshim in greater numbers.
