HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita on Shabbos lashed out against the Israeli left-wing, calling people associated with the movement “Malachei Chabala”, destructive angels. The Gadol HaDor made his remarks during a weekly shiur in Har Nof. He explained that we all have angels to our right and left and while the one on the right always fights on our behalf, the one on the left works against us. The Rav explained that in Israel we too have a left, and they are Malachei Chabala.

He spoke of the G-d fearing people who conduct their lives in accordance to the Torah, those with the malach on the right side, stressing this does not refer to political right-wing such as Likud, but the malachim above, the ones to our right, working on our behalf – the ones contributing to a gzar din (verdict) for another year, a good year.
