El Al is going to accept the FAA’s regulation and beginning on Monday (Sept 19th), it will be banning any liquids on board flights from Tel Aviv to the United States.
Passengers will be compelled to leave all liquids behind or place them in luggage. They will no longer be permitted to bring them on board as is the case in the United States. The ban is on bottles containing over 100mm of liquid. This also applies to beverages purchased in sealed bottles from the duty free area.

It was just a matter of time before the Israelis joined America in its craziness and paranoia.
In the US, you can buy liquid after security and bring it on board. Why would this law apply to Duty free purchases that are bought after security?
Too bad. I recently read an article stating that the TSA should follow israels lead and allow liquids on flights. But the reverse seems to have just happened.
I’m pretty sure that was supposed to read ‘100ml’ -(milliLITERS – a measurement of volume for liquids) NOT ‘100mm'(milliMETERs – a measurement of length or width).

Looks like Israel is confused.
I work for EL AL and want to clarify: this is not EL AL’s policy nor that of the Israel Airports Authority. This is an American TSA requirement, that airlines apply the TSA’s stupid and rediculous liquid ban on ALL flights into the United States, even if the airport of departure has more lenient rules (such as Ben Gurion Airport).
To number 2: It doesnt.I just got back this morning from EY and bought plenty of “liquids” to enjoy this shabbos some time between maftir and mussaf with my chevrah. At checkout, if you are flying to the US they put it in a clear sealable plastic bag. Regualtion was so new that the cashiers took 10 minutes trying to figure out how to use it.
Issue is/was…after security, they dont stop you again before boarding..and since duty free is after security- Not really sure what the bag accomplished.
#7, read the article. it says that itdoesnt go into effect until Monday (Sept 19th)
#8- I did read it…I also know what happened to me last night at Ben Gurion…whether it be a dry run or not i got a sealed bag…call it a dry run…with no follow thru
