NIS 70,000 Reward For Stolen Wedding Videos

Thieves on Tuesday (Sept. 13) afternoon broke into the Bnei Brak home of chareidi entertainment production personality Yisrael Rubinstein, making off with a significant quantity of equipment.

Rubinstein was hired for many chareidi events, including admorim and major askanim, and as such, was storing many videos and photos in his home at the time of the break-in. One of those is last week’s wedding in Keter HaRimon in Bnei Brak, the chasnah of the son of a Rebbe from Bnei Brak. Hundreds of chassidim attended from around the country. The videos of the chasnah were on one of the computers that were stolen, and the news has brought much grief to the Rebbe Shlita.

During sheva brochos on Tuesday one of the Rebbe’s supporters heard the unfortunate news and announced he is offering a NIS 70,000 finder’s fee. Needless to say, many are involved in trying to locate the missing computer.

  1. If it was stolen what is the point of a “finders” fee? Also, 70000 Shek is approx $20,000! Who ever heard of offering so much cash for some pictures or videos?! I would say give your money to your fellow chassidim so they dont need to fly to the USA for $.

  2. The big tzadikim are against taking videos in the first place. I’m not saying this is no big deal, but what is geferlach if there is no video? Many people don’t take wedding videos altogether.

  3. Question and Speculation:
    1) “chareidi entertainment production personality” How does one become a “personality” in this field?
    2) My bet is on someone having an issue with something in one of the videos and is looking to delete, doctor or destroy it.

  4. One Question:
How does one become a “personality” in the chareidi entertainment production field

    One Speculation:
Dollars to Donuts someone stole the tapes because of something on the tape that he wanted doctored deleted or destroyed
