YWN has received information directly from askanim involved in the case of the bochrim who were incarcerated in Japan, and has learned moments ago that reports coming out of Eretz Yisrael are simply untrue.

The Kikar Shabbat website reports that the state prosecutor in Japan has appealed the acquittal of Yoel Ze’ev Goldstein, who returned home to Eretz Yisrael about a week ago.

Askanim directly involved in the day-to-day events in the case insist this is not true; pointing out the time limit for filing such an appeal has passed.

Below is an email from the leading attorney for Yoel Zev’s case. The prosecution b”h did not appeal. This proves that the acquittal was based on powerful reasoning, giving little or no chance for the prosecution to succeed in revoking the acquittal at the high court.
