IDF Moving Troops To Yosh Ahead Of PA Statehood Declaration

While the political echelon does its thing regarded an expected unilateral PA (Palestinian Authority) declaration of statehood, the IDF is preparing for what the intelligence community fears will be a wave of violence that could result in unprecedented attacks and attempts to infiltrate into communities throughout Yehuda and Shomron. There will be a significant increase in the number of troops deployed in these areas.

IDF Central Commander Major-General Avi Mizrachi met with settlement leaders at their behest to brief them on the situation, explaining what the IDF is doing ahead of the expected PA move. Mizrachi plans to significantly increase the IDF presence throughout Yosh towards stopping any and all attempts to enter Jewish communities before they occur.

Preparations have been underway for some time and Mizrachi is confident that his troops are ready for any eventuality. During the meeting with community leaders, the senior commander assured them that Arabs will be stopped before enter communities, asking community leaders to rely on the IDF and permit troops to do what they are trained to do.

YWN also reported recently that all first-response teams have been briefed and given operating guidelines for the eventuality of an emergency, and they have taken part in actual drills simulating a number of possible scenarios.

Mizrachi acknowledges that there are always a number of individuals who may opt to take extreme measures, and this may be true among the Arabs today, but he feels that the military has truly covered its bases and stands prepared for every and all eventualities.

One interesting weapon that will be used is uploading violent Arab protests to youtube, in real time, realizing the importance of the propaganda aspect of addressing today’s political realities.
